Course Description: In a partnership with the Houston Christian University, this course will give students an orientation to American history from the pre-contact period to the end of Reconstruction. It will present “historical vocabulary” that will help students understand and appreciate references to U.S. history they will encounter in the future. This course will enable students to appreciate the many ways in which those who lived before us continue to shape the beliefs and experiences of Americans today. Students enrolled in this course will be dual enrolled at Houston Christian University and CPC. Upon completion of this year-long course, student will earn 3 hours credits as HIST 2313 or TCCN HIST 1301.
