Course Description: In a partnership with the Houston Christian University, this course provides a basic orientation to American history from Reconstruction to present. It presents “historical vocabulary” that allows students to better understand U.S. historical references encountered today. This orientation will also highlight the ways in which those who lived before us continue to shape the beliefs and experiences of modern American society. Students enrolled in this course will be dual enrolled at Houston Christian University and CPC. Upon completion of this year-long course, student will earn 3 hours credits as HIST 2323 or TCCN HIST 1302.
Required Materials:
American History Volume 2: 1877–Present, Thomas Kidd
Supplies: Loose leaf paper in a 1” three ring binder (with interior pockets), 5-tab dividers, spiral notebook, 2 sharpened pencils or pens
*Students new to CPC will be interviewed. Enrollment for all students is contingent upon director approval.
