Course Description: Integrated Physics and Chemistry is a lab-based introduction to future coursework in Chemistry and Physics while insuring a mastery of the basics of each discipline. It encompasses the study of the scientific method, metric system, properties and classification of matter, atomic structure, chemical formulas, physical and chemical changes, motion and machines, light and sound, heat, electricity and magnetism. Mathematical processes are also applied in labs to see the relationship between Math and Science. Also, there are a number of labs where the students will be expected to construct models at home. (rockets, bridge, etc) These will be used to correlate math and science processes. Students must be able to successfully use a calculator and will be expected to work on assignments at home at least 2-3 hrs each week.
