Ruthie Ammons

Ruthie Ammons taught in Texas public schools for several years before her children were born, then homeschooled her 3 daughters for 21 years. She taught many homeschool classes in Katy before joining the CPC staff in 2016. Two of her daughters are married, and she now has 6 wonderful grandchildren. She has been married to Bruce for 40 years, and the two of them are active at Sugar Creek Baptist Church where Bruce is the Pastor of Guest Ministries.

Paul Jozwiak

Paul Jozwiak is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Education and an M.Ed in Education—Curriculum and Instruction. He was thrilled to join CPC in 2014, as he has taught 28+ years in public schools, 3 years at Living Water Christian School, and 6+ yrs at Logos Preparatory Academy, where he taught life science, earth science, biology, IPC, and marine science. Additionally, he worked with Science Olympiad, going to national competition for 5 years. Not only did he teach sciences, he also enjoyed coaching girls basketball and track. His passion is teaching, and the best part is seeing a student realize the vastness of God’s creation and how He has placed everything in perfect order.

Sheila Kleinhenz

Lily Kruut was born in Colombia, South America. She began her homeschool journey in 2008. Before having kids, she worked as a legal assistant for a couple of law firms and as an executive assistant for an insurance company. She has been married to her husband Thomas for 32 years, and they have 4 kids and one grandbaby. Her oldest son is a paramedic and firefighter and getting married in July; her second oldest daughter is married and has a BA in interior design. She and her husband have a 22 month old son. Her third child is a Junior at A&M seeking a degree in chemistry. Her youngest daughter is attending PIMA in Houston seeking her degree as a Vet Tech and working as a vet assistant at Sugar Land Pet Hospital. Lily has a passion of working with kids from kindergarten through high school and has had the opportunity of teaching at various coops and tutoring privately helping other homeschool families achieve their educational goals. She has taught all levels of Spanish, as well as science and math, and worked with kids that have learning differences. She has also been active in her church, Calvary Chapel. She has volunteered to work in VBS, nursery, kids’ church, and greeting ministry. In her spare time she enjoys participating in Women’s Bible study, spending time with her grandbaby, and traveling. She loves teaching and making a difference in her students’ lives.

Karen Mikula has been teaching piano lessons for over 25 years. She is also a full time Music Minister at Notre Dame Catholic Church (since 2003), where she plays piano and directs several choirs (both children and adults) for worship services in English and Spanish. She is mom to 2 lovely musical daughters. She is very excited to join CPC this year!

Shanna LaRose Ramon

Shanna Ramon is a professional artist and homeschooling mom of three. She loves painting and art of all kinds! Shanna has taught art to her kids and to various classrooms of people throughout the years. Painting and drawing since third grade, she has always taken art classes from elementary school to college, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Journalism. With passion and laughs, she uses art to feed her soul and loves to teach others (especially kids) to think outside the box. Shanna LaRose Ramon

Laura Rood is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She has taught in several Texas public elementary schools for a total of 20 years. Teaching children is Laura’s passion. She earned the Outstanding Math Teacher of the Year Award and was the model classroom for a school district so that other professionals could learn how to teach and engage students. She is wife to Chadwick and mom to one daughter who also attends CPC. Laura is an active member of Sugar Land Bible Church where she works for the Children’s Ministry and volunteers as a Bible teacher to the 3 to 7 year old children.

Sue Stanley

Sue Stanley earned her B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi and home schooled for 15 years. She was thrilled to join Christian Perspective Classes upon inception. ”I really enjoy working with my dear students. It is so rewarding to reveal the wonders of math and to see their faces light up when understanding dawns.”

Tim Stanley, a homeschool dad for 15 years, works with families on financial planning and has been playing guitar since his middle school days. Though never a professional player, he has had a life-long interest in guitar and enjoys all types of music and guitar techniques. Having taught beginning guitar in the past, he enjoys working with students and looks forward to helping them gain a love for music and creativity. When not helping families or playing guitar, he is also an avid photographer.

Andrea Sylve

Andrea Sylve has taught in both public and private schools and was delighted to join CPC in 2014. She has a Master’s Degree in Education and holds the firm belief that learning best takes place when the environment is fun and engaging. Science and history are two subjects near to her heart. She says, “God reveals so much of Himself through the field of science. As we study His creation, we can deepen our understanding of our Creator. Also, the history of mankind has God’s fingerprints all over it. He loves people, and people are made to worship Him. History reveals patterns of this relationship.” Mrs. Sylve is an active member of Grace Community Bible Church in Richmond and the mother of two homeschooled children.

Ruthie Taft

Ruthie Taft has been with CPC since 2014. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in Mathematics plus a Secondary Teaching Certification in Math. She taught 8th grade Pre-Algebra in the Klein school district for 5 years. She is wife to Tim and mom to four kiddos. Her oldest now attends Houston Christian University and the other three attend CPC. She has been homeschooling since 2010. She is an active member of Sugar Land Bible Church. She also enjoys sharing the role of co-director with Sheila Kleinhenz and Andrea Sylve.

Daniella Tiller has been homeschooling her children since 2008, after being homeschooled herself all the way through 12th grade while traveling back and forth between Austria (where she was born) and Texas. She earned a double BA in Political Science and Business from Houston Christian University, and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law. Mrs. Tiller has 4 children and a wonderful husband. Her oldest child is a United States Marine Corp Veteran that has recently embarked on his university journey. Her next two children are Baylor University students pursuing degrees in Biochemistry and Education, respectively, and her youngest blessing is a student at CPC. Mrs. Tiller has a passion for nurturing young learners and preparing them to thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually through hands-on learning. She is excited to begin her journey with CPC and create an environment where children are engaged, curious, confident, and kind.

Alison Thompson is a homeschooling mom of four, having homeschooled now for 13 years. She and her husband, Justin, and their children lived in Lima, Peru for 11 years doing church planting and discipleship ministry with a team of families, and they moved back to Texas in 2020 and to the Sugar Land area in 2021. Alison would consider herself a teacher by nature, and she enjoys helping kids truly love learning. Her children have attended CPC classes for 3 years now, and she has enjoyed getting to know the elementary aged kids at CPC through her volunteer time as the recess monitor each week. Alison enjoys ministry of all kinds, but she has had many years of ministry experience specifically with kids throughout her high school and college days, her time being newly married in youth ministry with her husband, all of her years in Peru leading children’s ministry, and now through Bible class teaching for children and youth in her home congregation, First Colony Church of Christ.

Heather Villareal

Heather Villareal joined CPC as a teacher in 2018-2019. Heather earned her BA in Counseling Ministries from East Texas Baptist University in 1997. She has teaching experience in the public school system, private school system, and homeschooled her three children all the way through (K thru 12th). Teaching children is a passion of Heather’s, and she looks forward to using that passion to help educate the students whose families choose CPC as part of their homeschool path.

Deborah Whaley

Deborah Whaley is an honors graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Biomedical Science and a Secondary Science Composite Teaching Certification. She taught 13 years in public schools, both in Texas and Virginia, where she taught Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics, and the International Baccalaureate Physics program. She shares a fascination of God’s creation with other science “geeks” and loves how God reveals Himself in all that He has made. One of her great joys is making what seems to be an intimidating subject, like Physics, become understandable and applicable. She has 4 children who she homeschooled for over 14 years and has taught at CPC since 2013.

Janet Wrenn

Janet Wrenn joined the CPC team in 2020 as its drama teacher. She has been the Drama Ministry Leader at Sugar Land Bible Church for the last eight years, directing their VBS stage performances as well as their Christmas Programs. She has also performed in multiple theatre productions over the years, which allows her to teach from both an actor and director point of view. Janet also has a background in music, having played the violin for over thirty-five years and been involved in multiple choirs and madrigals. Janet is also a published author of over fifteen books, which led her to start the Creative Writing class at CPC to help foster future authors. She has been married to Michael for twenty years, and they have one beautiful daughter, Elissa.

Kathy Zimmerman

Kathy Zimmerman has been teaching at CPC since 2010. She has a B.A. in English, 25 years homeschooling experience, and 18 years experience teaching many homeschool classes including Worldviews, English, Writing, Speech, and History, privately, at ARC, SCHOLA, CPC, and Logos. She is married to Jim, has 5 children and five precious grandchildren, and attends Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
