Course Description: In a partnership with the Houston Christian University, this course provides a basic orientation to American history from the pre-contact period to Reconstruction. It presents “historical vocabulary” that allows students to better understand U.S. historical references encountered today. This orientation will also highlight the ways in which those who lived before us continue to shape the beliefs and experiences of modern American society. Students enrolled in this course will be dual enrolled at Houston Christian University and CPC. Upon completion of this year-long course, student will earn 3 hours credits as HIST 2313 or TCCN HIST 1301.
