Traditional Art Course Description: This class, for ages 10 and up, is for students already skilled in art and for students who want to BECOME skilled in art! Each exercise we do will be as complex or as simple as the student prefers. We will learn to manipulate the elements of art, which include line, shape, form, value, space and color. Miss Shanna will teach students how to skillfully use these elements to create meaningful, intentional art. Through various mediums like markers, watercolors, pastels, and acrylic paints, the students will broaden their knowledge of the “language” of art. Projects like one- and two- point perspective drawings will increase students’ understanding of their world. Skilled students can polish their skills and new art students can begin to develop theirs. Students are encouraged to take the class multiple times if they would like to continue to hone their skills.
Required Materials:
Instructor will purchase all materials needed for the class. Students will be able to bring supplies home at the end of the year.
