Course Description: This class is the second year of high school Spanish. We will use the second half of the Spanish Now! textbook used for Spanish I. We will continue to build on the use of demonstrative adjectives and adverbs. Students will be introduced to stem changing irregular present tense verb conjugations, direct and indirect objects, past tense regular verbs, emphatic and unemphatic negations, and reflexive verbs. We will continue building vocabulary through reading short stories in our book, along with short stories in our reader. We will be translating short stories and summarizing our reading. We will also be writing short reports and presenting them in class. We will also be learning about the geography and culture of Latin American countries We will continue to dialogue in class and do impromptu skits to help our development of spoken Spanish. This course will cover Chapters 17-31 of the book. Homework will consist of 4 hours of work weekly, including writing vocabulary flash cards and practicing, completing workbook exercises, conjugating verbs, reviewing material
