Course Description: 5-6 Language Arts will focus on writing, literature, vocabulary and grammar. Each week students will be read to and will read stories about American adventures, medieval knights, make-believe lands, legendary islands, and other fun experiences. Reading Detective will help your children think critically about anything they ever read. Christian Light Language Arts is a solid, comprehensive program that teaches grammar and mechanics. Vocabulary from Classical Roots is a thematically organized vocabulary program that systematically instructs students about Greek and Latin roots. Students should be expected to work on assignments at home approximately two to four hours each week. Parents will be responsible for editing writing projects, checking grammar homework, and monitoring novel reading and vocabulary homework.
