Tradition Art Course Description: In this one hour class students will focus on Drawing in the fall semester and Painting in the spring semester. In class we will learn about master artists throughout history including Monet, Da Vinci and others. Students will imitate the masters’ works and styles as they practice drawing and painting techniques from basic to advanced. Students will also have the creative freedom to explore and experiment with what they learn, developing their own styles. We will work with different mediums including acrylic paints, colored pencils and charcoal.
A syllabus with a supply list will be emailed upon registration or handed out at Orientation.
Digital Art Course Description: In this one hour class students will be introduced to the digital art medium. In class we will learn the basics of digital drawing and photo manipulation including layers and masks. Students will also learn how to create different sized artwork and about the formats and file types they can work with. This class will build the foundation for graphic design such as logos and book covers as well as extend the boundaries of more traditional art styles.
Required Materials: This class requires an iPad capable of running the latest iOS updates, the Procreate Application (available in the app store) and a stylus. A syllabus with more information on technology requirements and stylus suggestions will be emailed upon registration or handed out at Orientation. Below are suggestions for iPads.
