Course Description: Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance empowers students to make sound financial decisions for life. Designed by teachers and for teachers, this is the premier curriculum for teaching high school students about money. Parents will appreciate adherence to national and state standards, while students experience interactive learning with Dave’s practical, down-to-earth style. Included in the lessons are actual calls from The Dave Ramsey Show that address issues pertaining to this age group, cooperative and independent student activity ideas, case studies reflecting real-life examples, and extensive review sections. All lessons are taught by Dave on DVD in 4 distinct units. Each unit contains 3 chapters, featuring several parts each no more than 15 minutes, which will all be covered on Mondays in class (1-1.5 hours), followed by interactive discussion and class activities to appropriate the principles learned.

Weekly homework includes completing the Chapter Study Questions, studying for, and taking the Chapter Test.

Each student enrolled in Foundations in Personal Finance needs the corresponding workbook. It’s 224 pages of interactive content and relevant stories that will keep students engaged throughout the class videos and discussions.
