Course Description: Using recommended reading from Story of the World Volume 2: The Middle Ages, we will read, enjoy, and review together literature relevant to this time period. Class time will include discussions and activities designed to provoke thought and peak interest in the readings.
Students will be expected to read chapter books at the rate of one about every three weeks. (Approximately 50-75 pages each week) Students should also be expected to work on assignments at home at least 3 days each week. Parents, please do not allow your child to read the book prior to class; I would like the students to discover the literature together as a group.
Please note – some of this literature may introduce false beliefs in the form of myths and legends. We will address these in class and equip students to recognize these ideas and contrast them with Christian truths. While world culture is appreciated, false religions are unacceptable.
